Create an API Access user in ScreenSteps Live

To use widgets that access the ScreenSteps Live API you will need to enter some login credentials from your ScreenSteps Live account. For various reasons you don't want to use an administrative username or password. We suggest that you create an API Access user. This lesson will show you how to do that.

Select Account > Users

Select_account__users

Select "Create A User"

Select_create_a_user

Set Options

Set_options

Select API Access and enter a login name.

Enter Password and Tasks Option

Enter_password_and_tasks_option

Enter a password. If you would like this user to be able to create tasks then you will need to check the Can Create Tasks option. IMPORTANT: You must check this option if you want to use the ScreenSteps Live Tasks widget in Zendesk.

Once you are done, click Create User.

Assigning the User

Is the user is going to be accessing public spaces then you don't need to do anything else. If you want the user to access a protected space then you need to assign the user to the space.
