How to convert your old Zendesk template to the 2011 template

This article will show you how to convert your existing Zendesk template to the new 2011 content template. This only applies to you if you created your Zendesk custom template before January 2011.

Duplicate Your Custom Template

It is best to duplicate your custom template so that you can switch back to your original if you run into any problems. Just create a new custom template and copy the contents of your existing Zendesk template into the new one.

Update Custom Template

The only area you need to update on the custom template is the <head> section. Make sure you remove the old ScreenSteps Live css sheets and include the new place holders as shown in the image above.

Change Content Template Your Space

Set the Content Template to ScreenSteps Live 2011 and select Update.

Adjust Sidebar

You need to set the sidebar to appear on the right side.

You can customize other sidebar setting here as well if you would like.

Set new custom template

Set_new_custom_template

Select Edit Settings and then change the custom template to the new Zendesk template you created.
