How do I configure the ScreenSteps Live plugin?

This lesson will show you how to configure your ScreenSteps Live WordPress plugin. Make sure that you have already installed the plugin in your blog.

Select Settings > ScreenSteps Live

API Information

Api_information

By default the plugin will use the example account. If you are just experimenting with the plugin then leave the settings as is. If you want to use the content from your own ScreenSteps Live account then enter your:

1. ScreenSteps Live domain (youraccount.screenstepslive.com)
2. Your ScreenSteps Live username.
3. Your ScreenSteps Live password.
4. Select whether or not you want to use HTTP or HTTPS (HTTP is faster, HTTPS is more secure).

NOTE: The ScreenSteps Live user can be any user on your account meaning you can create a special user for your WordPress plugin on your ScreenSteps Live account if you would like.

 

Create ScreenSteps Live Page

Create_screensteps_live_page

Select Create ScreenSteps Live Page.

Configure Page

Configure_page

Set the Space and Manual that you would like to have displayed on your WordPress blog. If the Manual is set to none then a table of contents listing all of the manuals in the existing space will be shown. If you select a manual then just the table of contents for that manual will be shown.

Save

Select Save WordPress Page Settings.

Go to Pages

Publish ScreenSteps Live Page

Publish_screensteps_live_page

To publish the ScreenSteps Live page click on the Quick Edit link under the page name. You will need to move your mouse over the page title to see the link.

Change the Status to Published and click Update Page. You should now be able to view your ScreenSteps Live content by navigating to the WordPress page.
