Keeping Your Manual Up To Date
A manual that isn't up to date is worse than useless. It actually hurts your organization since your users will begin to mistrust your documentation. ScreenSteps includes many tools that make updating your documentation simple and fast.
Replace Images
One of the best features of ScreenSteps is how easy it makes it to update your images. Just click the camera icon to replace the image for a particular step. ScreenSteps will even set up your screen capture to the exact size and location of the original picture.
When you replace the image, all of your annotations will be kept. Just reposition your arrows and boxes and you will be finished. You really will be amazed at how quickly you can update your documentation.
Keep Track of What Has Changed
Inevitably you are going to need to update your manual at some point. Most often this occurs when a new version of the software you are documenting is released. ScreenSteps includes status settings for lessons that can help you track which lessons need to updated.
Go through your manual and mark the lessons that need to be updated.
Then filter your lessons by their status. You will have an instant list of all the lessons you need to update.
Easily Reorder Steps
Many times you may need to delete, add or reorder steps when you are updating a lesson. Open the Lesson Inspector to easily see a list of all the steps in your lesson. You can click on a step to jump to it or drag to reorder it.
