Overview

In this manual we will show you how to launch a product documentation site from scratch using ScreenSteps Desktop and ScreenSteps Live. We won't be going into all the possible options of the desktop software or the hosted solution. The goal of these lessons is to get your documentation site up and running right away.

Stub Out Your Manual

First we'll cover how to stub out your manual. By using a very simple process you will create a manual that is both useful to your customers/users and easy to author and maintain.

Setup Your ScreenSteps Live Account and Post Your Manual

Next we will show you how to setup ScreenSteps Live to work on your manual as a team. We will show you how to:
1. Configure your ScreenSteps Desktop software to post to ScreenSteps Live.
2. Upload the outline version of your manual.

Launch Your Site

Now that the manual is finished it is time to launch the site. We will go over how to create a a space on ScreenSteps Live for your customers, customize it a bit and drop the manual into the space to make it available to your customers.

After Launch

Finally, we will point you to some additional resources to help you expand your content on ScreenSteps Live.

That's it for this overview. Let's get started on creating your product manual!
