How do I Configure My ScreenSteps Software to Post to ScreenSteps Live?

This lesson will show you how to configure your desktop software to post lessons to ScreenSteps Live. You must have signed up for an account at www.screenstepslive.com before you can do this.

Download and Install ScreenSteps Desktop

If you have not already installed ScreenSteps Desktop Pro then please download it and install it on your system. You can download ScreenSteps Desktop Pro here:

Download ScreenSteps Desktop

Open Preferences

Open_preferences_display

Select Web Export

Select_web_export_display

Add an Account

Add_an_account_display

Name It

Name_it_display

Select ScreenSteps Live

Select_screensteps_live_display

Note: that the options shown in the Type list are those available with ScreenSteps Pro.

Enter Account Information

Enter_account_information_display

Enter your account information. For Use SSL you should probably select either Only when logging in (this will make sure that your username and password are encrypted) or Always (all traffic will be sent over SSL).

If you are going to be using OpenID or Remote Authentication on your account then you may want to use an upload token instead of a password here.

Test Connection

Test_connection_display

Select Test Connection. If you test is successful then you will see a check mark. If not then make sure that you are able to login to your account from the website and that you have entered your information correctly.

You are now ready to post lessons to ScreenSteps Live!
