Export a Connection File
In order to connect to a ScreenSteps Workgroup library an author must have access to a connection file. This lesson will show you how to export a generic connection file that does not contain any specific login information for an author. If you would like to export an author-specific connection file please see this lesson.
Export File
From the Connection Info tab, click on the Export Workgroup Configuration File button (1).
Notes:
- If you are using Microsoft SQL Server you must create an ODBC connection on each computer running OS X and ScreenSteps Desktop.
- If you are using Microsoft SQL Server you must create an ODBC connection on eac computer running Windows and ScreenSteps Desktop OR add a Database Host.
- If you want to change the connection settings that are sent out with the connection file you can do so. Just make any changes and click the Save Changes button (2).

A connection file has now been created that you can send out to all of your authors.
